I believe that birth is a normal, physiologic, spiritual, transformational, part of human life, and that our bodies were designed perfectly to do it; it is not a medical condition. I have faith in and trust a woman’s natural instincts to move and be active during labor. I like to provide hands on care and guidance during this process. During your pregnancy and birth, I will always inform you about what is happening and encourage you to be involved with decision making after feeling fully informed. I acknowledge the physical, psychological, spiritual and social well-being of the mother during her pregnancy and birth. I believe birth is an intimate experience and really transforms women best in a comfortable and private environment. I strive to establish a close trusting relationship with my clients and offer continuous care throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period up to 4 weeks. I welcome sibling involvement, and promote breastfeeding and attachment parenting with the whole family. I respect and treat my clients as individuals, and am trained in trauma sensitive care practices. I believe in the importance of cultural practices throughout pregnancy, labor and postpartum to facilitate bonding, mental well being, and feelings of being heard and supported. I am committed to an environment that embraces diversity in my practice, it is open and accessible, and is free of harassment and discrimination based on, ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, religion, age, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, political opinions or affiliations, etc. Welcome!
I'm Jayde, and I was raised in Lansing, Mi but around 2011, I moved to a village called Bath.
I am a mama to two kiddos called Haigan and Ryleigh. I have been home schooling them for the last couple of years and we love it! My children and I enjoy living in a small town, but when mama is off call, we enjoy taking long road trips to new places around the US and rooftop camping in our van!
I am doing life without a partner, and I use my village as often as needed, and am so grateful for this blessing.
What I think makes me unique as a doula, is that I can offer doula services at home, at a birth center, or in the hospital. I craft herbal medicine for the postpartum period, I am also a midwifery student, and I am a zealous Bible believing follower of Christ!
I have compassion for all women from all walks of life. I love the women I serve, and love to serve them and their families!
My background includes completing the Child Development and Early Childhood Education program at Lansing Community College, graduating in 2012. My doula training was completed after that at the Center for the Childbearing Year in Ann Arbor, MI. in 2013.
As of 2016, I started my apprenticeship as a student midwife with a local CPM on a whim, hoping midwifery was actually my calling! I took a leap and was back in school. I spent 3 years with that senior midwife and have since worked in 3 other practices.
In Jan 2017 I enrolled into The Midwives College of Utah, and will be completing my CPM certification with a Bachelor’s in the Science of Midwifery in 2022, in conjunction with my apprenticeship, and a few trips to my campus in Utah. I will be able to obtain my license in Michigan after graduating and taking my NARM exam to obtain my CPM.
Count It all Joy Midwifery coming to you then!!!
